Alice Wang (w-ah-ng) is a licensed clinical social worker in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Lenni-Lenape land. She completed her Master of Social Work and Master of Science in Education at the University of Pennsylvania and she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College. Her graduate studies focused on understanding the role of systems in healing or, more often, exacerbating distress for students of color with trauma histories.

Before starting her private practice, Alice provided therapy at the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, she primarily worked with students who have experienced trauma and loss, first-generation and low-income students, queer students, Asian-American students, and other students of color. For Alice, an important part of her role as a social worker is as an advocate. As such, she has facilitated workshops, trainings, and group healing spaces in various educational settings. She has also served as a teaching assistant for graduate level coursework about intersectional social movements.

In addition to learning every day from the lived experiences of her clients, Alice continues to grow as a professional and believes being a student makes her a stronger clinician. She has completed advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy through Bryn Mawr College’s professional development division; EMDR therapy through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness; and Somatic Attachment Therapy through The Embody Lab. Alice is grateful to be a founding member of the Kintsugi Therapist Collective, a group of providers who are committed to liberatory practices that honor the personhood of both clients and therapists.
